Letter From Patty…
I'm going to put my thoughts regarding the build in an email and anything here that you feel you would like to use as a testimonial... Feel free to publish it. In general, I wanted to take the time to thank you Jonnie... I should have done it SO much sooner. But... a simple thank you just doesn't seem like it's enough. This experience was truly life changing! I feel like the possibilities of where I can go are endless now... and I'm just SO EXCITED to get started! I'm incredibly grateful and always will be.
When I first reached out to you regarding help with my build, I can't even explain the amount of excitement I had when you agreed to come up and help! I quickly realized that you had the skills to make this project happen... and I did not! LOL So once again, I can't explain the amount of excitement when you agreed to do the whole build! 😁 This project was not an ordinary van build. We were able to communicate so easily every step of the way. It was as if my best friend agreed to build my van out according to what I had envisioned, and it turned out so much better than I could imagine. I really appreciated that you were in touch with me when each component was started. It allowed me to be a part of the build from 1600 miles away. I knew what I wanted the van to look like but you knew what I needed in it .... to have it be functional in all areas. Your experience on the road with your own van was SO valuable. I know that I benefited greatly from what you learned on your build. I'm very thankful for your input and bringing these details to my attention so we could work together on what would work out best for my build.
I know that my arrival to pick up the van was not what either of us had envisioned. I was SO miserable and overtired I couldn't express what I was really feeling. But in reality, I was overwhelmed by what I saw. I handed over my van to you as an empty shell and it came back to me as a tiny, BEAUTIFUL cabin beach home on wheels. It is SO well built and the amount of time that went into every detail shows! I'm in love with this van! I'm SO proud of it! I love driving it and seeing heads turn curiously. When I open the doors and someone peaks in to see it... the look on their face is priceless! EVERYONE starts with "WOW! The quality of this build is just incredible!" and "It's so beautiful and truly a tiny house on wheels". Everyone says the same thing as their first sentence. Maybe a word here and there is different but, overall it's the reaction is the same. My RV friends were just in awe! One of the things they mentioned is that you can NEVER get a build like this off the production line of a RV organization. (Which obviously, we know you can't compare a custom build to a production line build, but, again, it was the reaction that was great to see). And, words like "detailed craftsmanship","quality details", "so well thought out"," amazing finishes and aesthetics", and "this is a one of a kind" were used as they looked around.
My van is a home. I can not wait to take it across the country, but in the meantime, I'm looking forward to becoming acquainted with every detail of it. My cross country plans are on the back burner for now, since my mom still needs me, but I'm still using this van in the way it was intended. Thanks to your vision of a backup electrical system (my little Jackery), I can still plug in and take it to the local state or town park and work on my computer, watch tv, have lunch, read a book or just fall asleep for a few hours, because I might not have received enough rest the night before. This is my home away from home for the day, while someone is sitting with my mom and I'm SO grateful to have it! I just want to be in it every day... even though it's really cold here! LOL
Jonnie I really miss being in touch each day and the daily photos. It was intoxicating to see what was being done next! I know we started out as strangers, but I believe we will be friends ... always! I know the saying "you put your heart and soul into it" is thrown around lightly in conversations, but you truly put everything you had into this build! So much so, I feel like my friend (my friend being you ;-) is in my parking lot waiting for me to take it on a "journey".
This is heartfelt and delivered with SO MUCH gratitude! Anyone who has their van built by you not only receives a quality home on wheels, but a friendship that lasts for life!
